Mark
Anthony Thomas is an award-winning author, writer, and literary
artist. He has performed and spoken at educational institutions,
major civic engagements, literary and and spoken word venues,
and on major media outlets around the United States.
With two books published,
"As I Look" and "The Poetic Repercussion,"
he has participated in more than 200 literary events and performances,
was nominated for 2005 Georgia Author of the Year-Poetry and appeared
on the National Best Sellers List for Contemporary Poetry in 2006.
Thomas has written works for the Children's Miracle Network, National
Business and Professional Women, Georgia Holocaust Commission,
Women Against Domestic Violence, a tribute piece for Atlanta Mayor
Shirley Franklin and a dance-literary collaboration piece with
the Georgia Ballet in 2006.
Thomas works in political
policy in New York City, serving as the Deputy Director for City
Futures, Inc. (Center for an Urban Future, City Limits Magazine)
and is a graduate student at Columbia University's School of International
and Public Affairs.
